I’m an experienced educator and resource creator with over 34 years in primary, secondary, and international schools. My work has focused on language and literacy, EAL support, curriculum development, and teacher training. I created the Contented Being resource series for IB English B and the Right Fast academic vocabulary games for ESL learners. I also write, present workshops, and continue to enjoy sharing what the classroom has taught me — from China, where I’m currently based.
ESL-WISE
Welcome to my blog, ESL-WISE, a space I’ve created as I near the end of my in-class teaching career.
After more than three decades working with second language learners, I felt it was time to begin sharing the ideas, techniques, opinions, observations, and reflections I’ve gathered along the way.
This blog is part journal, part guide — a place to pass on what’s worked, what’s changed, and what still matters.
I’m not writing as an expert with all the answers — just as a teacher who’s spent a long time thinking, testing, failing, adjusting, and trying again.
These posts are simply my way of passing on what I’ve found meaningful, what I still question, and what I believe is worth talking about.
All views expressed here are entirely my own and do not represent the opinions of any institution I have worked for, past or present.
